Our History and Mission
The Upland Holistic Development Foundation, or UHDF, began as a small mission initiative led by an American missionary family with a desire to see highland ethnic communities experience positive change and an improved quality of life. Our journey began in 1996 and continues to this day.

Today, UHDF works with more than 100 communities across four watersheds: Mae Na Wang, Kok, Mae Ta Chang, and Mae Yang Min.
UHDF works with diverse ethnic communities across the watersheds. Each community has its own unique traditions and cultures, reflecting its way of life, beliefs, and local wisdom. For generations, the livelihoods of these ethnic communities have been closely connected to nature and the environment.
