Have you ever walked past a neglected or degraded forest and felt that nature was calling for help?
The “Plant Forests, Plant Trees, Nurture Hearts, Protect the Environment” project is about more than planting trees. It is about nurturing environmental awareness and inspiring young people to recognize the value of natural resources and understand their role in caring for our planet.
Every tree that is planted is a symbol of cooperation and hope.
Every spark of inspiration planted in the hearts of young people is a force that will carry environmental conservation forward into the future.
Join us—let’s learn, take action, and nurture hearts alongside the trees we plant, creating a greener and more sustainable world for all.
“Planting a tree may take only a few minutes, but nurturing a love and respect for nature can stay in our hearts for a lifetime.”
The Foundation promotes activities that support sustainable community development, including environmental conservation, agroforestry, strengthening local economies, savings groups, and backyard farming, enabling farmers to become more secure and self-reliant. This work is particularly important in the Kok Watershed, an important headwater area rich in biodiversity and home to ethnic communities whose livelihoods remain closely connected to natural resources.
Tree-planting activities in schools are therefore part of a broader learning process aimed at fostering environmental awareness among ethnic youth while strengthening the role of schools as practical learning centers for the conservation, restoration, and sustainable use of natural resources.
Goals
- To promote knowledge and understanding among students and teachers about forest and environmental conservation.
- To create green spaces and small-scale ecosystems within the school grounds.
- To establish a learning space for agroforestry and natural resource management.
- To encourage students, teachers, and Foundation staff to work together in environmental conservation.
The “Plant Forests, Plant Trees, Nurture Hearts, Protect the Environment” project aims not only to increase the number of trees in the area, but also to nurture environmental awareness and inspire young people to recognize the value of nature around them through hands-on learning and action in their own
- A Living Green School
The school will have more green spaces, providing shade, reducing temperatures, and creating a small ecosystem that benefits both people and other living organisms. - A New Generation with a Heart for Conservation
Students will gain knowledge and skills in caring for natural resources while developing an awareness of the importance of living in balance with nature. - A School-Based Learning Space for Forests and the Environment
The planted areas will become a natural classroom where teachers and students can learn hands-on about agroforestry, forest restoration, and ecosystems. - Growing Together Through Collaboration
The project will strengthen relationships among the school, teachers, students, and the Upland Holistic Development Foundation/UHDF, creating continued and sustainable collaboration for environmental conservation.
